This anatomically correctly shaped bit rests evenly and lightly on tongue and bars, and provides more room and freedom of movement for the tongue. When the reins are applied, even pressure occurs on the bars and tongue. No lateral squeezing of tongue and bars occurs. Bit guards prevent pinching of the lips. Thanks to its domed shape, the comfort bar sits particularly quietly in the horse”s mouth. Mouthpieces with a slightly domed bar are considered to be especially gentle and kind on the mouth. This property combined with our beris plastic enables horse and rider to enjoy an even softer and more comfortable communication. The comfort bar is particularly suited to young and sensitive horses. The Pelham- a classic bit, now in our more elegant and enhanced design. When the reins are applied, the bit acts on the mouth, lower jaw and poll. Depending on lever length of the shanks (5 cm or 7.5 cm), a different strength and direct bit angulation in the mouth is achievable. Used on horses that have difficulties coming through at the poll, “hot” horses, or on horses that need significant input in critical situations (such as jump offs or similar). The Pelham is supplied with curb hooks.

 


Despatch and Delivery

Orders placed before 12 Noon are despatched the same day for in-stock items when paid by MasterCard, Visa, Delta Laser or Switch. Standard service 3 - 5 working days. Orders placed and paid by cheque will be delayed by six working days.

Most orders are despatched in 24 hours, however, at peak times or when stock is limited delays may occur. At such times, please allow 28 days for delivery . You will be advised of any expected delays at the time of ordering.

It is important that a signatory is available to sign for the consignment at the advised delivery address only. Courier companies may make additional charges for second attempt deliveries or may require the addressee to collect from their local depot. If a signatory is not available at your usual address please consider an alternative delivery address where a representative for yourself is available to sign, or designate your workplace as your preferred delivery location. Please note parcels that are returned to Holmestead Saddlery where a signature could not be obtained, and have not been collected from the courier's depot within seven days, will be subject to a £15.00 couriers charge.
